Humane Indiana strives to find forever homes for our shelter pets. Our adoption process was designed to ensure that our pets are placed with caring, responsible owners ready to make a commitment.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS

We encourage you to first browse adoptables to get an idea of animals you might want to meet before coming to the shelter to get the most out of your viewing time. Our adoptables are updated daily.
Appointments to book a designated time slot are strongly encouraged. To pre-schedule a viewing time, call the shelter at 219-922-3811.

There are no holds on animals.
All adoptions require interested adopters to meet with our pets before submitting an adoption application.
Adoption applications must be filled out and submitted in person.
