The wait is over! Humane Indiana is joining NBC’s Clear the Shelters on Saturday, September 12, and we’re inviting our community to help us find loving homes for dogs and cats who have been waiting for their second chance.
After severe storms impacted Northwest Indiana and forced us to postpone our original Clear the Shelters event, our team is ready to welcome you back. Through it all, our shelter pets have continued to receive the love, care and support they deserve, and now, they’re ready to meet their families.
Reduced & Waived Adoption Fees
For Clear the Shelters, adoption fees will be reduced or waived on select pets, making it easier than ever to bring a new best friend home.
Every adoption does more than change one animal's life. When you adopt, you help create space for another animal in need.
Before heading home, Humane Indiana shelter pets receive comprehensive care, including:
Spay or neuter surgery
Age-appropriate vaccinations
Microchipping
Preventative care
Medical treatment as needed
Nutritious food
Daily enrichment and care
Plenty of love and attention

The recent storms created unexpected challenges and expenses for Humane Indiana, but the need to care for animals hasn't stopped. Adoption fees help, but they don't cover the full cost of providing food, shelter, medical care and daily support to every animal who comes through our doors.
